Adding Facing to Toile

After finishing the toile, I then asked a teacher to review it, to check there wasn't anything that needed changing. This taught me a lot as the teacher picked up on a few things I wouldn't have otherwise thought of.

I had to add a facing to my garment so the the front could be unzipped and not show the raw edges,  also had to change the top of the front panel pieces as they were leaving a really bulking seam at the top of the arm.

Here is where we drew out on the toile, where facing would sit inside the dress.

This is a bulky shoulder seam that needs to addressed.

This is how the facing would sit on the back of the garment.

As you can see I then made a pattern piece to sit where we had drawn.

I had a lot of trouble getting the back facing pattern piece to sit correctly against the dress. I had to re draw it a few time before it became correct.
