The introduction was really good, we got a clear outline of what is going to be expected from us and what the project entails. Once we were in groups we were assigned two task for that day. The first was to have a theme in which we could all design around. And the second being to make out block pattern of the dress which is going to be used as the base to our designs.
We spent time discussing what theme we thought would be appropriate, and something we could all be inspired by in different ways. We soon decided on motorcyclists/bicker/hells angels theme.
So when I got home I created this page to help pull designs and shapes out of this theme before creating the designs I have done to far:
Here is some photographs of my block pattern and some key things I learnt:

This is the top of the back piece, this can be told due to the fact that it has two notch marks in it. |
A front pice will always have a bust line trough it with a hole to represent the nipple point. |
We marked on a wait line, this then showed us how large the dart was going to sit in the dress. |

The patten is made up of four parts but they are duplicated, so only drawing one for the front and one for the back is sufficient. |

You can see that the centre front's have been marked in red, this is to make them clear and easy to spot. |
It was a really good lesson and I learned a lot, however I do need to have a final design by next lesson so this is something I am going to have to work on.
